The Play Group is a celebration of art and function. We make objects and puzzles for curious minds and creative spaces. Founded in 2014 by Clemens Habicht and Jeremy Wortsman, The Play Group began with the original 1000 Colours — a complete CMYK gradient puzzles designed by acclaimed artist Clemens Habicht, it was the first puzzle of its kind. Following viral success, 1000 Colours has since evolved into eight distinct variations, each offering new challenges and perspectives. Our collection has grown to include more than a dozen artist-led edition puzzles.
Along the way, our fascination with design and making has expanded into new forms, including sculptural objects and kites. At the heart of everything we do are a few things we hold dear: Play¹, Craft², and Collaboration³.
